I bought this car from a family in Kansas in the spring of 2004. They had owned it since new and it had been grandpa’s car. It had been kept in storage and had last run in the early 1990’s. I bought it rather impulsively over Ebay and I was attracted by the original nature of the car. It was tired, but all there with no rust anywhere. text: Original Henry Ford Steel Un-Chopped 1934 Ford 3 Window The frame is an original un-cut original 1934 Ford frame, the only modifications on it are the motor mounts. The motor is a fully rebuilt Cadillac 331 V-8 that came out of an old 40 Lincoln hot rod, with Caddy valve covers, valley pan and fuel pump, that have the original chrome. The motor has an Isky cam in it, a Joe Hunt electronic magneto distributor, and an original Offenhauser 3x2 intake with three 97 Strombergâ€™s on it. Transmission is an early Ford three-speed case with a double detent top and original Zephyr gears. Rear end is a â€™36 Ford banjo with 3.25:1 ring and pinion. text: These were the cars that began Jaguars illustrious competition history. This forerunner to the SS 100 is a very rare classic and a wonderful piece of Jaguar's early history. I have a Heritage Certificate showing the chassis #247989 belonging to this car, being manufactured the 26 of May 1934. The original color was Lake, and the original owner was DG Foster, of Sutton Coldfield, England. The engine number is 248490 which is not the original engine, though it is an appropriate SS engine believed to originally been from an SS Airline. The English registration number on the car was AOE 555. The car was restored in 2001. The car runs and drives well, it has scored over 99 points at 2 shows. It comes with tools, new side curtains, and very rare original 24 page sales manual and an original instruction book.
