This Esprit comes complete with the original leather-bound handbook, both keys, a clean CarFax report, a full inspection from our Lotus Service Center, and maintenance stamps/receipts back to the very first oil change. Also worth noting is the fact that the S4 ranks among the rarest Esprits, as Lotus sold mere 82 S4s in the US for 1995. Yet, many purists, including the long-time engineers at the factory, consider them to be among the best ever made. This is principally because when they added the heavier V8 in 1997, they had to cut some of the sub frame to accommodate the larger engine, and thus the S4 model is stiffer and lighter than the later V8 cars.

From WikipediaThe Lotus Esprit (es-pree) is a sports car that was built by Lotus in the United Kingdom between 1976 and 2004, as well as a future release in 2013. The silver Italdesign concept that eventually became the Esprit was unveiled at the Turin Motor Show in 1972 as a concept car, and was a development of a stretched Lotus Europa chassis. It was among the first of designer Giorgetto Giugiaro's polygonal "folded paper" designs. |
