After a few years development and only a 75 car production run, the gt was replaced by the more purpose-built Zagato of which only 19 DB4 Zagato's were built. In 2005, a houston car collector found himself in a position to acquire this gem although the original engine was nowhere to be found. He then decided, as did the Sultan of brunei, to make incredible custom & unique retro-upgrades to the car. After some primary planning, the dbgt4 was sent to shapecraft in Newport Pagnell, england (an unimaginable task) to have a complete new aluminum body built for it including the zagato coachwork. Plans were engineered to accommodate a supercharged db7 and 5 speed getrag transmission from an alfred dunhill edition. Only 75 dunhill's were manufactured and were built with only 5 speed manual transmissions. A car with perfect poise and perfect road manners. Everything in this car is either hand-made & fabricated brand new. No expense was spared with new parts that were bought. Multiple disc's will be provided with pictures. Actual receipts included. Custom arias pistons, brand new borrani wheels. Tec gt engine management system with unlimited programming. Eaton supercharger was completely rebuilt by marston aerospace & jet coated. Supercharger has undersized pulley for increased performance. As some examples the ring set alone for the pistons were $2300. Water pump $2400. $4200. For a new clutch kit and disc. Four wheel disc brakes. Ap racing front and dbs rear. DBS control arms throughout. Custom stainless exhaust. Rack and pinion steering. The interior has the finest matched hides which are custom stitched and embroidered. Air-conditioning. Navigation system. Pioneer head unit. 2x diamond audio amps 650 watts @4 ohms. Diamond audio speakers & subwoofer.

From WikipediaThe DB4 is a sports car sold by Aston Martin from 1958 until 1963. It was an entirely different car from the DB Mark III it replaced, though the 3.7 L engine was externally visually related to the 2.9 L unit found in that car. The DB4's unique design and performance would later form the basis for future Aston Martin classics, such as the DB4 GT Zagato, the Lagonda Rapide 4-door saloon, and its ultimate replacement the Aston Martin DB5. |
