The last of the M471 widebody cars, with all of the 964 model's refinements, a radically reworked engine, the first appearance of true “big red” brakes and those jaw-dropplingly beautiful Speedline wheels make the 3.6 one for the history books. This one here has under 22,000 miles, three very careful owners and timeless Guards Red paint. This is the right car to be your only Porsche, or as an addition to a world-class collection. Delivered new to Hinsdale Motor Cars in Hinsdale, IL, the car has seen nothing but careful ownership and sunny days.It lived in the Chicago area, went to Florida for a couple winters, and spent the last 10 years with the same owner in Detroit. We have the original books and manuals, the original window sticker, service records and more. We have receipts for its 15K service and more. There are four upgrades, as well: A nice Clarion head unit and Boston Acoustics speakers replace the horrible ITT/Nokia units, Eibach springs lower the car to Euro M030 ride height, a muffler bypass pipe makes it sound like it should have from the factory, and an upgraded "compact" K29 turbo offers nearly identical spool characteristics with a bigger top end rush. None of these detract from the driving experience in any way--they simply make the car more like you'd expect it to be. This amazing car looks and drives just as you'd expect from a 22,000 mile car. The seats are nearly perfect, the paint is glossy and original, and everything works down to the ice cold A/C. Nothing more than a couple minor stone chips are on the front, the Speedline wheels are nearly showroom fresh, and there are no leaks from the motor or transmission. This truly is a great find, and one of the nicest Turbo 3.6 cars left anywhere.

From WikipediaThe Porsche 911 (pronounced as Nine Eleven, German: Neunelfer) is a luxury 2-door sports coupe / GT made by Porsche AG of Stuttgart, Germany. It has a distinctive design, rear-engined and with independent rear suspension, an evolution of the swing axle on the Porsche 356. The engine was also air-cooled until the introduction of the Type 996 in 1998. Since its introduction in 1963, it has undergone continuous development, though the basic concept has remained little changed. |
