This car was purchased online in fully stock condition by a soldier in IRAQ a couple years ago. He had the car shipped to the RX-7 Store for performance modifications while he was still deployed.

The car has 36,000 original miles and only 2,500 miles on all of the performance modifications, including a fresh street ported motor. I have the results from a motor compression test performed by the local Mazda dealer, all positions better than OEM. I’ve also had the car thoroughly inspected by Rotary Performance in Dallas TX. The car currently dyno-tests at 365 HP, however the crew at Rotary Performance assured me the car could easily be re-tuned to produce around 475 HP.

The car is like new inside & out, even has the new car smell. Even though the car has 365 HP it gets over 20 mpg out on the highway or when conservatively driven in the city.

The car has a high and low output mode for the engine management system. It’s just a push button switch you can change on the fly. My plans were to bring the car back to the RX-7 Store and have them add a Methanol Injection System and re-tune it. (Methanol is an inexpensive liquid similar to what they add to pump gas to increase octane.)

Anyway, I was going to have the Methanol Injection System setup to cut on when the car is in “high output” mode. The Methanol cools down and increases the density of the air/fuel mixture which would allow the car to be safely tuned to approximately 600 HP. Total cost for the Methanol Injection System & re-tuning would be around $1,000 at the RX-7 Store.
