1970 300SEL 6.3 – 21,000 Miles with FACTORY LUGGAGE SET

This 1970 300SEL 6.3 (W109) sedan is arguably the finest low mile example in the world. The 21,000 original miles are documented and the car comes with all its original manuals and books. The car is EXTREMELY original and still sports the factory Dunlop SP57 tires on all four wheels. In the trunk, the car has an unused 7 piece luggage set, the correct Dunlop SP57 spare tire (untouched), the factory spare tire tag, a perfect trunk mat and finally the all important tool kit (perfect-with all tools). The car has had the same owner (who babied the car) for the last 39 years. The car has a clean US title. VIN#10901812005239

Paint

The paint on the car is stunning in 172G Anthracite grey metallic. There is nothing comparable to the luster and brilliant shine of factory Mercedes paint. The paint on the car is near perfect, with only small imperfections and tiny scratches. The paint is all original except one small 3-4 inch spot on the hood that was touched up. The hood was shut on a battery charger and a small repair had to be done.

Body

The body of this car is perfectly straight – there is not ONE ding or dent. The body is also 100% rust free. There is no rust at all on this car. It also shows NO signs anywhere of body work or prior accidents.

Leather

The gorgeous factory parchment leather in the car is practically flawless. There is only SLIGHT creasing on the drivers bolster, that is the only sign of wear on all the leather in the car. The rear seat and passenger seat show now signs of wear at all and look factory new.

Options

This car comes with the all best options that were typically ordered such as the sunroof and the rear reading lamps, but what makes this car truly unique is its FACTORY HEPCO 7 PIECE LUGGAGE SET. The leather luggage set is BRAND NEW and was never used. It is in perfect condition and still has the keys ziptied to the inside of each piece of luggage. Inside each of the 7 pieces you will also find the ORIGINAL HEPCO brand informational paper.

Carpets

The carpets in the car are flawless and show no wear. The car came with beautiful black/red coco mats (which are also in near perfect condtion) from the dealer and those protected the factory carpeting.

Wood

The wood in this car is absolutely amazing to see. It is all original macassar ebony (some people incorrectly call it zebrano wood) and shows absolutely no signs of any issues. There is no fading, cracking or lifting of veneer. It is as close to perfect as you will ever see.

Chrome

The chrome on this car is perfect. There is nothing to say about it. Not one single ding or dent. The metalwork on this car is stunning.

Glass

Not much to say about the glass either, it is perfect - free of all cracks, pitting and chipping.

Motor / Mechanicals

One of the most important things potential buyers of 6.3’s must be aware of: garages kill. This car starts right up and idles perfectly. The reason this car does not have major fuel system issues is because the owner was SMART and started the car up frequently. He drove the car a short distance around the block regularly and kept fresh fuel in the system. The engine, with only 21,XXX miles on it, is tight and feels EXACTLY as it should. It is extremely torquey and is immediately responsive. Due to the low mileage, there is little wear on this engine and it is a joy to drive.

In the engine bay you will find all original hose clamps and even the original spark plug wires.

Trunk

In the trunk of the car, not only do you find the EXTREMELY rare luggage set, but the untouched toolkit, original spare tire, original jack, spare tire tag and perfect trunk mat. Nothing in the trunk was ever used and the all the contents are NEW. This is extremely unusual to see, even with such a low mileage example. Try finding another 300SEL 6.3 with factory ORIGINAL tires on all four wheels….Good luck!

Summary

The other low mileage examples of this super sedan that I am aware of had nowhere near the beauty of this car. The color combination of this particular car is drop dead gorgeous, you add in the sunroof and the luggage set: what you have is probably the nicest 300SEL 6.3 in the world. You will not see another 6.3 that is this stunning and original
