It placed 1st in a PCA Concours 4 years after I bought it in 2001. It has had two titled owners who kept it up fastidiously, with continuous records present from new. It has never even been washed, waxed or buffed since I have owned it, only wiped down with detailer when removed from heated dehumidified storage when used about 200 miles each year. The original silver exterior is in excellent condition as are all the rubber moldings still soft and supple, the engine bay is also excellent ,and mostly original ( I had the fan refinished back to natural silver since these photos were taken ) with the other exception being service items. The front compartment has the original perlon liner along with the unmarked tools, spare tire, jack, air compressor ( original box included put not pictured ) ,tire pressure gauge and tire changing gloves and bag are present and perfect. The interior is unbelievably original and perfect, and smells excellently from the original full red lobster special order full leather interior. A newer Porsche Blauplunkt CD player was installed prior to when I bought it however a original blauplunkt cassette is in the trunk to reinstall for the original effect when shown. The speakers are the originals. This interior is as I bought it right down to the red dot on the brake pedal ( when is the last time you saw one still present?, as it WAS there when new ). The underside of the car is also excellent original and is consistent in condition with the rest of the car. About 5 years ago I sold a 9000 mile 1979 930 turbo to a private Porsche museum ( it also still had the red dot on the brake pedal). At that time I elected to keep this one based on its merits. The 1st place in all early air cooled concours in 2004 evaluation should exlain to any that have shown at Porsche concourse that excellent and original is a major factor in judging. Score 177 out of 180. The deductions were from dust and lint not defects as this was my first time showing and did not wash or vacume the car prior to the show.
