According to Georgano's Encyclopaedia, Begot et Mazurie of Reims, France were general engineers who made a small number of buggies (voiturettes).
This might be the only surviving single cylinder 4-speed, double chain drive car of its type. It carries its original Sussex registration number and for most of its life has been a two-family car (two families have owned it)!
From Gavin McGuire, "It is in remarkably good condition having been renovated in the late 1900s. As an 1899 car it will of course be a very early starter in the Brighton Run. Were it running this year based on current entries it would be in the first thirty or so out of over five hundred Veteran Cars to leave Hyde Park so you would get a very clear run out of London!"
