This 1974 Series III Land Rover SWB was imported from England in 2003. First registered on August 12 1974. This vehicle still has original dealership sticker on it!. The vehicle resided in Weymouth, Dorset. The vehicle always stayed local. It appears to have been gently used. The previous owner had the vehicle painted to its current condition but could not pay for all the other work the vehicle needed to get it roadworthy and decided to sell.

When I received the vehicle into the United States, I stripped it to a bare frame to get it roadworthy. A new quarter chassis was installed which is also known as a rear crossmember with extensions. A new gearbox crossmember was also installed. Chassis was completely wire brushed and por-15 was applied. Chassis is rust and rot free!

Axles and leaf springs were wire brushed and por-15 was applied. Rear tub was removed and underside was stripped and repainted, and new rear tub supports were installed. New underseat toolbox was installed and is galvanized.
Tires were new before leaving England.
Floor plates were stripped and repainted.
All Galvanized trim was repainted with cold Galvanizing then clearcoat applied. This also includes bumper and windscreen frame.

The bulkhead (firewall) is original and has had the passenger (left hand side) footwell replaced at some point, and one very small patch on the drivers side footwell. The rest of the bulkhead is flawless with no rust, rot or repairs. It did get some kind of zinc or other rust prevention type paint which was applied before color paint. This is visible in a few places on the footwells.

The engine was rebuilt, being bored, honed, head fitted with hardened seats (runs on unleaded). All seals, gaskets bearings were replaced. All work was done by very reputable engine builder who is local and does work for celebrities. He also did work on the transmission but I don't call that fully rebuilt as only necessary repairs and parts were done. Odometer reflects actual miles since this truck had all this work done, which is less than 1,800 miles but subject to change if used before auction ends. Has M.A.P. Freewheeling hubs in full working order. Four wheel drive works great!
