This 220 is black with red full leather interior and black German soft-top with light gray headliner, red carpet and door-panels as well. Black German boot cover is included as well. Owned by a big Mercedes Dealership for nearly 2 decades, she underwent a completed restoration at that time. Only after an investment of $110,000.- she was allowed in the show room, where she resided for many years.
Most of the restoration was done between 1989 and 2000 and the car still shows like it was just completed yesterday. Paint, chrome, wood, leather, top, engine everything is in flawless condition and car is truly a show car.

I have sent a few emails to Rasmussen Mercedes Benz and the service manage actually did call me back and got me in touch with the person who did most of the restoration on this car. He seemed to remember the car pretty well and I was glad to see him move up as the shop foreman of the same Mercedes Benz dealership.

This car is almost 55 years old and I have driven the car now for about 150 miles. I always make it a habit to drive a car for at least 100 miles, so I can also fairly judge a car. My result on this car : absolutely stunning !
A pleasure to drive, you barely hear the engine, that's how smooth she runs. She shifts super nice through all gears and the brakes are great as well.

The bright red interior and the almost playful arranged chrome gauges are a reminder of a time, when beauty was more important then low cost functionality. Just have a look at the original radio and original VDO wind up clock...

The engine compartment is as clean as the rest of the car and shows no signs of any accident or any kind of rust damage at all. It is just a pleasure to open the trunk and find the original luggage, made by Karl Baisch, in there. Original spare tire, jack and tool kit is also present. Tires are Firestone Deluxe Champion wide whitewall 6.70-15, and of course, in near new condition.
