1976 Porsche 934

Factory Yellow. This incredible 934, chassis number 0162, and one of about 30 built, won the title for World Championship of Makes, Group 4 class, in 1978 with driver/owner Angelo Pallavicini. Unlike so many others that were first converted to 935 specification and then extensively modified beyond that to become unrecognizable today, this car retained most of its original configuration throughout its racing life. It was then comprehensively restored to its original 1976 factory specifications by yet another owner/driver, Jim Torres of Burbank Coachworks in Southern California. All of the car's original bits and pieces were always saved and boxed away during its racing days, and then reutilized during its restoration.

An interesting bit of celebrity history is that the actor James Brolin, husband of Barbara Streisand, co-drove this car to a fine 12th overall, and 3rd in GTO class, in the 1980 12 Hours of Sebring.

The level of the restoration cannot be overstated...no expense was spared. In recent years, tens of thousands of dollars have been spent on an engine rebuild as well as many other items at the shop of Porsche racing specialist Jerry Woods. Today the car is in race ready condition, and is eligible for almost any event in the world, including the Le Mans Classic.
