1962 Chevrolet Impala SS ' Emerald SS' This astounding show piece was professionally crafted by Samson Design. The Emerald SS began life as an ordinary 1962 Chevrolet Impala Hardtop. A rotisserie all steel construction process took place over eleven months, which entailed the body being cut and widened one inch. The engine compartment consists of all steel, hand made fire wall, inner fenders, core support shroud and an air cleaner. A 355 Chevrolet engine powers the vehicle with a 350 turbo transmission. The tapered doors are electric and can be opened by remote. The glass was custom designed featuring a real speedster feel; functional attributes are also included, with power windows. A 1950 Chevy Deluxe Dash starts off the interior, which also has been widened and lengthened, accented with hand formed trim; which illuminates the length of the dash. One off ultra leather and Rolls Royce carpet interior was hand formed by Roger Suskey. Bucket seats have been molded into an all steel package tray, featuring hand-formed tapered head rests. Air ride technologies suspension with round tube a-arms and trailing arms complete the show car chassis. The car rides on 18 and 20 inch Billet Specialties, Vintec Dish style; Samson disc brakes stop the creation. The Emerald SS has made the cover of Chevy Rumble magazine in June 2007, won the Championship Auto Shows Inc. Cup at the 2007 Detroit Autorama; as well as being featured in several other magazines and many other awards from coast to coast.
