If you have been looking for a decent halftrack at a more than fair price, you found it. This is a 1944-45 (rebuilt in 1950s) WHITE M16A1 (configured like an M3) Halftrack. It is a roller model complete with the original roller. This halftrack runs and drives great. I was not around when this beauty rolled off the assembly line, but I can tell you this, it is hard to believe the engine ever sounded better, starts right up, no smoke andd drives great. Why spend time restoring a rust bucket (no offense MVPA members) when for half the cost you can have this one, which is nearly complete. The tracks are about 60 to 70 percent. The armor from the cab forward is all there, all windshield armor, driver and passenger door armor and side window armor also present. What it needs: the hydrovac needs to be rebuilt. What you may want to do to it to make it really nice: You may want to configure the troop/quad compartment (as it is currently and empty box, no gas tanks), this HT was motor pool restored not frame off, so you may want to paint it or leave it as is. This vehicle runs great and like most modern trucks, it has oil and other gasket leaks in the places you would expect from a vehicle over 60 years old. The road wheels on the left side may need to be replaced in the next 40 years or so, and the front tires have some dry rot. Also it does not have windshield wipers or glass though I know where you can get them. And the some of the driver compartment gages may need work though most look and seem to work just fine. I am not a HT expert, but it appears to me that the rear armor has been replaced, this may have been done in Israel, I just don't know.
