The body received a 100 point bare metal professional paint that is stunning (see pictures). Engine has been rebuilt and she received a complete brake rebuild including calipers,brake servo unit, new brake lines, new pads,new rear brake shoes and drums were turned. New shocks were installed on front. Healey has a new vinyl convertible top. We just finished having a Healey professional install new LEATHER interior as well as new carpet just like original in 1964! In addition we elected to have a Smitty 5 speed transmission installed. Boy, what a ride now!!! Everything looks as original, stick shifter, etc and she is indeed a pleasure to drive. The original transmission comes with the car. Healey comes with a new leather boot cover and tonneau cover. She has perfect panel fit and door gaps. The British Heritage Certificate comes with the car. Many feel the black Healey is the most beautiful of the Healey colors! The chrome trim and chrome wire wheels accentuate the beautiful black exterior to bring compliments and thumbs up on every ride. As the market value rises on these big Healeys, consider this a part of your investment portfolio. In fact, these cars were featured as good investments by a national prestigious investment firm (Merrill Lynch), in their June 2002 Advisor publication! They put a BJ8 on the COVER! Tell that to your wife! Also tell her she gets 25 city and 35 highway! Whatever! Restorations can run $100,000 + on these Healeys and take over a 1 ½ to 2 years to complete! When purchasing this restored Healey, you know for sure two things: how much the final price is and how long it’s going to take to get it finished. These cars are appreciating rapidly in value, more so than many other collectibles. Most recent price guide (Black Book CPI, Cars of Particular Interest), has the bj8 increasing at 5% for may-june 2007. Good value is listed at $44,000 and excellent value is $83,600. I have owned several of these healeys, and this one by far is the best driving healey and fastest!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
