The car that you see before you is the one and only 1966 Oldsmobile Tornado concept car built by the owner of the Grant Piston ring company, Grant McCoon. This historic car is normally known as the “Twin engine Toronado” and is highly documented from magazine articles of the 60’s and 70’s, ads from Grant Piston Ring Company and is currently shown on the Grant Piston Ring website.

This car started its life as a new 1966 Oldsmobile Toronado front wheel drive and became the concept car that was developed by the owner of the Grant Piston ring company who sponsored several Indianapolis race cars in the 1950’s. He believed that wealthy American men needed a large powerful touring car as personal transportation.

Grant McCoon personally oversaw and with the help of others personally engineered the concept of an engine in the front with front wheel drive and an engine in the rear with rear wheel drive with the idea that either engine could run the car or both engines could run together for powerful performance.

This car has the equivalent 760 hp and has the calculated 0-100 speed of 11 seconds. (One Toronado engine in the front and one Toronado engine in the rear).

This car was run on the road in California until 1976 and still has the 1976 California plates on the car. The car is virtually 99% rust free and very straight, original paint, both engines runs well; there is a tachometer on the dashboard for each engine plus other special gauges.

THIS CAR IS UNDOUBTEDLY THE GREATEST UNKNOWN FIND FOR AN AMERICAN MUSCLE CAR OF RECENT TIMES. This car is also considered to be one of the most powerful muscle car of the 1960’s being that it is rated at 760 horse power. The car runs on premium fuel and has a full back seat. The interior basically has the look of a standard 1966 Toronado. The pictures speak for themselves and it is an unbelievable sight to see all four wheels break loose and when the car is floored from a stand still. This car in proper tune can still take on all factory muscle cars and beat them in a drag race. Remember this car is 4 wheel drive! Copies of all documentation will be given to the winning bidder.
