About This 1970 Dodge ChallengerThis is a real 1970 Dodge Challenger T/A 340 Six Pak with Pistol Grip 4-Speed. The beautiful Sub-Lime green color (FJ5) with clear coat is a great show color which captures attention everywhere. It was restored in 1997 and has been babied ever since. I drive it occasionally, to local shows/cruises, and it is garaged under a cover all other times. Except for a few minor flaws, the paint is in excellent shape. I've won many trophies and there's plenty of summer left to get a few of your own.
The numbers matching 340 T/A engine and 3x2 barrel carburetors were rebuilt and run great.

This is a numbers matching car for: engine (T/A block), transmission, fender tags, cowl, radiator support, door sticker, and dash VIN tag. The only modification that does not match the broadcast sheet is a fast ratio, firm feel power steering box which I had installed in place of the original S77 unit. See the fender tag photo for the numbers.
The front bumper and exhaust tips are replacements, but all other chrome is original and in good shape. Wheel trim rings are original; one is slightly dented on the edge and one is scraped, also on the edge. The windshield is scratched on the driverÃ¢â‚¬™s side from the wipers being run without a refill in place. The windshield washer does not work.
Documentation includes: original broadcast sheet, original window sticker (torn), replacement window sticker by Galen Govier, owners manual, service manual, technical service bulletin (describes the T/A), and restoration photos. Also provided is Galen GovierÃ¢â‚¬™s decoding of the broadcast sheet (4 pages). IÃ¢â‚¬™ll throw in a Mopar Muscle magazine in which this car appeared.
A couple of T/A tidbits. Since these cars were built for the Trans Am circuit, a minimum number of vehicles had to be delivered with miles on them before Chrysler could race the T/As, so the factory actually had Chrysler personnel drive many of the T/As to dealerships to meet this requirement. Not a bad job, huh? Also, the frames of the T/As have a Ã¢â‚¬Å“torque boxÃ¢â‚¬Â welded to the frame in front of the exhaust tips. IÃ¢â‚¬™m told that only T/A, Hemi, and 440-6 Pak cars got this feature to make the frame more rigid.
