1986 Ford RS200 Rally Car
This one is for all you Rally Car Enthusiasts. Here we have a 1986 Ford RS200 LHD Street Spec Rally Car. Extremely low miles, 981 when it rolled into our dealership. The vehicle is finished in White w/Gray interior and red Racing Seats. The VIN # is SFACXXBJ2CGL00171.
History of Ownership
Imported into the country in 1988 and according to paperwork straight from Ford Motor Company in England to Denver, CO. The vehicle must have been Brand New. It was sold to the current owner here in Oregon in 2002 with 400 miles on it. Good news is it has an Oregon Title and with the documentation, EPA Release Papers. Just like any other import, laws vary from state to state.
The vehicle has always been stored indoors in a climate controlled showroom and according to it's previous owners, always driven properly with proper warm-up and cool down procedures. It is a 20 year old car that has been well kept and is a prized possesion. This is a rare opportunity to own a classic Rally car that will surely appreciate in value, especially since only about 200 units were ever made.
The car weighs in with a curb weight of about 2800 lbs. With a lightweight composite steel/aluminum/honeycomb tub with built-in roll cage. The body is made out of Fiber Glass panels w/carbon/aramid stiffening. Extremely easy access to all major mechanical components via lift up front and rear sections.
Styling was probably one of the best thing about the RS200 vs other Group B Rally Cars. Thanks to Ghia studio taking the responsibility of styling it out.
Engine is a Ford Cosworth BDT 1804cc (1.8Liter) 4-Cylinder 16 Valves, Turbo Charged, pushing out about 250 bhp and 215 ft.lbs of torque. Ford Fuel Injection w/EEC-IV Engine Management System, Turbo is a Garrett AuResearch T03/4 turbo and charge air intercooling.
Transmission is a five-speed manual, four-wheel drive, all synchromesh. The driver has the capability of "on the move" gear selected to switch between:- 2WD rear only, 4x4 Diffs Locked 50/50 torque split or 4x4 Diffs free with 63% rear and 37% front bias.
Suspension is independent front and rear, twin coil springs, wishbones, anti-roll bar and telescopic dampers.
Wheels, Tires and Brakes. Wheels are 16" eight-spoke cast aluminum wheels and tires are 225/50VR 16 Pirelli P700. Brakes are 11.2 in/285mm front and rear ventilated.

From WikipediaThe Ford RS200 is a mid-engined, four-wheel drive sports car produced by Ford from 1984 to 1986. The road-going RS200 was based on Ford's Group B rally car and was designed to comply with FIA homologation regulations, which required 200 road legal versions be built. It was first displayed to the public at the Belfast Motor Show.
