The car was correctly restored in the mid-eighties and has been properly cared for and maintained since. Prior to restoration, the car was totally rust free. The car was taken down for a complete mechanical and cosmetic restoration. The Damask Red lacquer paint (even though it is over 20 years old) is gorgeous. Of course there are a few small nicks here and there but the shine is deep and has held up extremely well. All panel gaps are perfect and there is no sign of prior bodywork anywhere. The chrome is quite nice but there is some pitting as to be expected. The interior is excellent. There are no rips or tears in the seats, panels, etc. The restoration was done with NOS seat covers, not some cheap aftermarket copy. The top is in good shape but there is some soiling on the underside and discoloration in the plastic rear window. There is a small tear in the boot cover that could be easily repaired.

Mechanically, the car is excellent. The car runs extremely well and is extremely fast. The car is fitted with triple Webers, a performance cam and oversized pistons. The Weber setup is quite nice given that the intake manifold (imported from Australia) allowed the Webbers to be fitted without butchering the firewall. The car is equipped with Konis and the ride is quite nice. The car is equipped with headers and a correct style original equipment exhaust system. The car is equipped with an aluminum valve cover and stainless braided fuel lines. The drive train leaks a little as would be expected. However, I recently drove the car over 750 miles from Mississippi to St Petersburg, Florida with no issues or oil consumption whatsoever.

The car is fitted with five 72-spoke chrome wire wheels with new (less than 5 miles) Pirellis. The car has the original BMC radio. I am including in the sale a large box of Healey spares (gauges, lens caps, original valve cover, etc.), numerous repair manuals, and an Owners Manual signed by Donald Healey.
