About This 1957 Studebaker Golden Hawk

This is a 1957 Studebaker Golden Hawk. This car was originally Glendale Green and I have chosen to paint it black and white, which was a color offered for the Golden Hawk. This car has been in the process of a restoration for about 5 years with it being just about finished. Currently it runs and drives nicely and only needs some minor finishing work. As you can see from the pictures the car is missing some of the trim but I have everything needed to finish this car including all trim. In the course of 5 years I have put over $48,000 into this car not including the $12,000 I paid for it, and of that I have receipts for about $30,000 of that. Yep that is correct. I would be happy if anybody is interested to send you a copy of the spreadsheet I have kept on this restoration. Does that mean I want that for the car of course not. The story on the car goes like this. I paid a restoration shop about $25,000 to do the bodywork and take the car all the way down to the frame. When they were finished I felt that most of the work was done nicely but the paint work was a little lacking and would need to be redone to be show condition, although it looks quite nice from about 5 feet. To solve the biggest concerns I had with the paint the trunk and hood were just repainted at a cost of $3200 and are perfect.
