This is a 1956 MGA 1500 Roadster with 300 miles since restoration Look that has been completely restored keeping everything as close to the way it was originally manufactured. Completed this summer. It has had less that 300 mile put on it since the resoration was completed. I have had the car for three years and it was in Palm Springs, California before that so it has been in the dry desert all it's life.
We purchased this MGA from a man who had restored a few MG'S in the past. First of all the fenders were removed from the body and sandblasted before the new primer and Olde English white paint was applied. The engine has been replaced with an 1822 B motor which runs perfect and is much more powerful and reliable then the A motor. It has a new stainless exhaust system. The original 4 speed transmission is in perfect condition! It shifts up and down thru all of the gears without out grinds or growls! The body was primed and wet sanded before the original color of Olde English White was applied and buffed to a deep shine. The body was assembled with new gray fender welting as original and new: bumpers and guards, grill is original and shines like new. It has an original luggage rack, new fender mirrors, and original inside mirror. It has a new Red top and tonneau cover with new snaps and studs, headlight rings, front signals, rear taillights and plate light. The windshield frame is original and looks great and the glass is in good shape too! The side posts are original and have no rust. New Plexiglas wind wings added. The wipers are original and work perfectly. Under the hood has all the correct hardware, new fresh air hoses. The original heater and air cleaners have been detailed to look new. All of the electrical works as it should, although some of the wiring was replaced with the correct color coded wires. The interior has been redone with Red leather seats with white piping, the seat frames were cleaned and refinished as original and rebuilt with new horsehair padding backrests and new foam bottom cushions. It has a new set of black seat belts. All cockpit rails have been covered with Red vinyl and leather on the door rails and rear corners as original. It has the correct door pockets, armrest, side curtain attaching chrome pcs and panel stiffening bars in place. The rear side curtain pouch is also new along with a correct spare tire cover both inside the car in the trunk. The carpet is new and Red and the correct fuzzy style as original. A set of new MG logo floor mats add a touch of class to the inside. The steering wheel has been restored and has a new center cap. All dash switches have new knobs and it has a new lights and wiper switch. The Starter, Choke, Heater Air, Temp and Defrost cables are new. The cassette/radio is an early model Becker AM /FM stereo with speakers mounted under the dash and are not seen. The conv. top frame is still original and a new Red vinyl top not installed yet. I have the original Plexiglas side curtains and they are still clear and look like new. It rolls on 4 original 48 spoke wire wheels and one spare in the trunk that are in great condition from living in the desert all its life. Also included is a thor spinner hammer, for changing tires, the original jack, and a Red tonneau cover for when you don't want to put the top up.
