1998 Lincoln Town Car Signature Custom Dub Show Hopper Lowrider (archived: 17 Mar 2010)
Owned by Chop of the TV series King of Cars, this custom Lincoln Town Car lowrider hopper has had $25k dumped into it. A dizzying array of goodies has been added and the body has been updated to 2008-look.From Seller:
Chop from the A&E show King of Cars is cleaning out his garage! $25,000 was spent to build this one of a kind show piece. You're bidding on a loaded Lincoln Town Car that has been updated to a 2008. This rare car has been featured in automotive magazines and national TV numerous times such as King of the Street and Dub Magazine. This car has custom features to include: entire new front clip, hood, bumper, grille, head lights, fenders, side moldings, mirrors, rear clip, trunk, fenders, rear bumper, tail lights, and emblems. We've updated a 98 because you cannot hop an 08 due to a subframe. This car has an actual frame and it's the only 08-look Town Car with hydraulics in the world. The frame has been fully reinforced and has a major frame wrap. This car was built to HOP! It has long rear strokes and extended A-arms for hopping. This car has been driven less than a 100 miles since the project was completed. It has a full hydraulics setup with Italian pump heads and it has aircraft dumps. We just added a brand new E&G custom top. ($1750) This car has custom leather, real suede interior and suede inserts on the doors, real 100 spoke wire powdercoated knock-off wheels, and almost brand new tires. We own a body shop, so the paint is meticulous! The paint on the car is better than a new car. It looks like glass! There is no waves and it's straight as an arrow. We are very picky about paint and this vehicle is right. This car has a very powerful system that sounds very clean with hard hitting clear bass with DVD player and Kicker Solo-Baric speakers. Most cars with hydraulics don't have a lot of bass but this one does. We hate to see the car go but it is too nice to let sit. This car has always been garage kept. The car drives very nice for having hydraulics and it still has shocks for smooth rides. It shifts very smooth and air blows cold.

1952 Nash Airflyte Wagon Custom Lowrider (archived: 02 Dec 2009)
Sold For: $47,500
Looking for something different? This is about as different as it gets. Absolute show - stopper! It’s just amazing how many younger folks have never even heard of a Nash. You are bidding on a 1952 Nash Airflyte Wagon. This car was a National Goodguys winner, Goodguys magazine cover car, appeared in many national street rod magazines, and probably one of the very best in the country. This car was professionally built in Oklahoma/California. The body was originally purchased at the Pate Auto Swap meet in Fort Worth Texas, having been in storage for 30+ years prior. A-1 Street Rod Shop in Broken Arrow Oklahoma built the car, including the tubular 2x3 chassis with a 100” wheelbase. A Lincoln 9” rear end (3.23:1) was narrowed and coupled to a Chassis Engineering four link set up, complete with disc brakes, and Aldan coil over shocks. Mustang II front suspension was modified, and utilized in front. Weld Drag Star wheels and B.F.Goodrich tires complete the package. Power is supplied from a basically stock 350” Chevrolet, “Mr.Goodwrench” crate motor with Street/Performance pulleys, HPC block hugger headers, polished 100 amp alternator, an aluminum Edelbrock Performer manifold with a 750 Edelbrock carburetor. A custom built aluminum radiator, a Tom Waterman fabricated, and polished, aluminum fan shroud, and a Walker super cool fan, keeps it cool. M.S.D. electronic ignition, along with Taylor plug wires, keeps the fires burning. Transmission is a 700R4 unit, with a Lokar shifter. The body is totally steel, shaved and smoothed by A1 Street Rods. The color is PPG/654 tint! Red as red can be! The interior is bone mist tweed, and it is a two-seater. It has power windows and A/C, along with a hidden remote Clarion C/D stacker. A custom built dash, Dakota digital, Ididit steering column, chopped Nissan Pulsar seats finish off the interior. The dash is very Art Deco looking. It has a fuel cell in the rear. This is a very cool car! It -DOES NOT- have air bags. It was built low, and rides pretty damn nice too. Here, in New England, most of the roads are fairly bumpy due to the heavy winter frost. I would have to think that in most other parts of this country, where the roads are much better, it would ride even better. Being so low, you do have to watch where you’re pulling into, or out of, so the front end doesn’t scrape. If you angle your entrance/exit, you’re all set. As you can see, this is not going cheap, but it is priced at about 40% of the build cost, I’m told. I’m not really interested in trades, but would consider a partial trade for a ’33 -‘34 Ford sedan, prefer 2-door, but would consider a nice 4-door, must be completely steel, not chopped, full fendered, and need not be a stock motor, but must be flat head powered. In other words: a dropped axel is OK. Different wheels are OK. Mercury flat head is OK. Altered interior is OK. The body must be steel, stock, and nice! That is the only trade I’m interested in at the moment, but you’re welcome to ask about other trades that I might be able to sell off. I’ve been retired now for four years, have way too many toys, and need to eliminate most of them. This car was originally built as a trailer queen and had almost no miles on it when I purchased it several years back, so we’ve had fun making it usable, and actually getting it out on the road. The photos of the underside show the fantastic work, and detail, but also show the dirt, as proof of its use. I will have it professionally cleaned, top to bottom, before it leaves my ownership, in the event that it is sold. As you can imagine, I’ve left out a ton of details about this car, some I don’t know about, many that are just plain boring. If you have specific questions that I’m able to answer, or find out for you, please feel free to ask. The car has a little less than 2300 miles on it now, but I do plan on taking it out this weekend for some exercise.

Scion strives to market itself as unique and that can certainly be said for the cars they showed at SEMA. They had seven vehicles at the show, which ranged from a rally racer to a lowrider tribute to the ranchero. Basically, they brought a little of everything, including the kitchen sink.
1940 Chrysler Windsor Custom (archived: 10 Sep 2008)
This is a 1940 Chrysler Windsor Coupe which has been customized as a late 40's to early 50's Traditional Style Kustom. It received the 2008 Santa Maria Cruisin' Nationals Early Kustom Award. It also received Gene Winfield's Traditional Kustom pick at the 2007 Primer Nationals in Ventura CA. In 2004 it was the Hop Up magazine top pick in Paso Robles CA, at the Cruisin' Nationals. It has been featured in Hop Up magazine, Volume 8.
The top has been chopped three inches. The fender seams have been molded and the rear fenders were pie cut, tapered and dropped towards the rear. A 1942 Packard Clipper grille has been placed up front to give it a true 40's Kustom look. It has a set of real Appleton Spotlights that have been rechromed. Almost every piece of chrome has been redone. The cars paint is a Candy Green w/gold Ice Pearl added in the clear. Photos just don't give this car any justice, you have to see the paint in person to truley get the full effect.
It has a very strong Flathead Six 241 c.u. motor with a manual three speed trans w/Overdrive and dual exhaust. It has 12' glasspacks and chrome tips out back. It still has 16' wheels with Firestone 600-16 Wide Whites. The car has been lowered w/dropped uprights up front and a chrome triangulated 4 link in the rear with Goodyear airbags.
The upholstery looks like it was done way back but is still holding up. To complete this car, the upholstery and headliner should be done but the good thing is it could be personalized to your liking.
2008 Bentley Follows Sales Success with Record Profits (archived: 15 Mar 2008)
BENTLEY FOLLOWS SALES SUCCESS WITH RECORD PROFITABILITY
Volume, turnover and operating profit all achieve new highs
Bentley Motors has announced its financial results for the year ending 31 December 2007, reporting record revenue and operating profit. For the calendar year, Bentley increased its net revenue by €36m or 2.7% compared with 2006, to set a new record of €1.37bn. Operating profit increased by €18m or 13.1% to a new operating profit record of €155m.
These results reflect Bentley's record sales performance last year when the company surpassed the 10,000 unit mark for the first time. Global sales increased by 7% in 2007 to reach 10,014 units. Increases were seen in almost all major markets: +7% in the UK, +4% in North America, +7% in Europe, +18% in the Asia Pacific region, and +93% in China alone.
These excellent results were driven by growth across both the Arnage and Continental ranges. Thanks to the introduction of the Azure convertible, sales grew by 45% in the Arnage line, whilst the Continental family sales increased by around 5%, with the GTC convertible proving the most popular model.
Commenting on these financial results, Bentley Chairman and CEO, Dr Franz-Josef Paefgen, said: '2007 was a milestone in the history of Bentley as we passed the 10,000 units for the first time. Five years ago we were selling only 1000 units but the development of a strong product line has seen the Company attract new customers in greater numbers. 2007 saw strong growth both in mature markets, such as Germany, the UK and the US, as well as in emerging markets, such as China and Russia.'
Looking ahead to 2008, Dr Paefgen said: 'We expect to maintain this momentum despite the financial instability that has been affecting the world economy. We hope to take advantage of a complete line-up, with the full Continental range, and the full Arnage range, including the recently launched Brooklands, which has already been very well received. Our plan has always been to achieve a sales volume around the current levels as it gives us excellent profitability whilst maintaining brand exclusivity'.

2007 Lincoln MKZ by H&R - Superior Quality and Functionality (archived: 17 Dec 2007)
H&R 2007 Lincoln MKZ Project
The Lincoln MKZ--with features such as All Wheel Drive, 236-HP V-6 engine, and ranking as the Highest Premium Car in Initial Quality--is well poised to take on the BMW 3 series and Audi A4 Quattro, but offers a much better value. As H&R's 2007 project car, it creates a paradigm shift by combining American style with European handling and luxury. The 2007 H&R MKZ has a modern demeanor--a super clean, lean look and powerful stance that better showcases its newest components.
The body of the MKZ has a classic, yet contemporary silhouette. The monochromatic black paint molds to the sleek lines of the car, while the chrome badging and highlights allow the Ford/Lincoln heritage to shine through. A 3D Carbon front spoiler helps to increase the vehicle's grip on the road while the top and rear lip spoilers increase its sticking power. To incorporate contemporary elements into the design and provide a measure of Super Euro Tuner, stylish Euro fender vents and a black custom grille have been added. Vivid cannibal red MKZ badges make a statement by providing a marked contrast for the look and the LED under lighting offers a pleasant ambiance. Consequently, the look of the MKZ's detailing reiterates the H&R reputation for quality components.
Due to the Ford Motor Company's commitment to performance and the specific handling characteristics of the MKZ, H&R has combined comfort and premium performance with its newly created MKZ suspension kit. The H&R suspension, tuned to lower the Lincoln 2.5 inches, results in a smooth and refined ride. Lowering the vehicle improves the handling and the look of the car while also showcasing the custom, hand assembled, polished silver O.Z. Botticelli wheels. The combination of the 20-inch high-performance Pirelli P Zero tires and Botticelli wheels is definitely eye-catching. Also noticeable are the Borla exhaust and shiny exhaust tips, as well as the world class Brembo calipers. Similarly, Goodridge brake lines and Motul lubricants add a level of proven performance to the MKZ's newest additions. The level of detail exacted upon the MKZ's performance components demonstrates H&R's continued commitment to quality and premium aftermarket products.
The interior of the MKZ exudes quality and superior functionality as well. To compliment the newest exterior features, the fully custom, subtly enhanced interior has gone from minimalist factory leather to deluxe black microsuede. The upholstery contains stylish accents in tuxedo black that invite visions of indulgence, as does the working European refrigerator. The addition of the custom, backseat refrigerator is perfect for keeping the high-end Voss and Apollinaris cool. The brake and gas pedals have been upgraded to high-grade aluminum to be more aesthetically pleasing while the center armrest is structurally enhanced and further padded to 'double the cush level for sidin' down the strip--don't hate on playas brotha!' A gently sparkling rear LED lit console further improves the interior ambiance of the MKZ, while the new design further defines the MKZ as being a comfortably functional vehicle with superior components.
Likewise, feel free to roam city street or open road with abandon because the MKZ is outfitted with premium Pioneer multimedia products--look no further for a complete audio/visual system. The Pioneer brand lends a level of quality and proven performance to the project that perfectly compliments the MKZ's custom additions. The Pioneer AVIC-D3 DVD Multimedia AV navigational server will keep the vehicle on a pre-determined course while the massive Pioneer professional brand complete sound system dramatically improves driving and riding pleasure. The amps, speakers, and professional separates are conveniently laid out in a custom amp rack in the truck to deliver a complete In Car Entertainment system. The inclusive Pioneer system is another premium addition to the MKZ and definitely improves the driving experience.
In effect, the new look of the MKZ, combined with its superior components and rich automotive heritage, make it impossible to ignore. Whether attracting attention on Madison Ave. or Hollywood Blvd., the H&R Lincoln MKZ will stand out as an intriguing and functional vehicle that offers great potential for matching individual style and performance preferences.
