CHRIS'S COMMENTS
Good money for this car, indicative of strong Mopar market. Original-looking car, but over-the-top presentation could have hurt credibility. Bold italic font was annoying to read. Dealer selling it could not verify history with documentation.

OWNER'S COMMENTS
This is with a doubt one of THE nicest, and cleanest 1970 Dodge Challenger Convertible we have had the pleasure to offer for sale in years! It was built at the Hamtramck, MI assembly plant in September of 1969. It is an extremely early car, being one of the first ten thousand car produced for the '70 model year. Thirty-three years since being built, the car still retains an unhit, original panel body, with a SUPER-NICE quality repaint. This car has been through a recent, quality repaint/restoration. It appears to retain ALL OF THE ORIGINAL BODY PANELS! There is no evidence of any splicing/major patches anywhere on the body whatsoever. The door shells/skins are incredibly solid, and clean, void of any rust issues on the lower (seam) area, as often found. The underside/unibody of the car is super solid, and original as well...something you rarely see on a rusty northern car!! Check out the pictures of the ORIGINAL floor pans, in ORIGINAL paint in the pictures below!!! This car is clean underneath, but not highly detailed or a nuts-and-bolts/concours-type restoration, etc. It is void of any patches, repairs anywhere on the frame rails underneath. The wheel houses, trunk drops, inner aprons, firewall, and all other areas prone to serious rust on these E-bodies is not present on this car. This car is not/was not EVER a rusted, or patched up vehicle. The original laminated VIN/date tag is still in place in the LH door, as is the VIN tag in the LH windshield pillar, and original underhood option content tag. The windshield frame/pillars are void of any rust/blisters, or damage, as typically found.
The main reason this car had a better life than most was because of the fact that it spent its life outside the salt belt. This car was purchased from Utah, and spent the better part of it's life in the west, which helped preserve it over the years.
The Metallic Blue paint job is an exceptionally well done base coat/clear coat refinish, which is of very high quality. The paint is of nice showable quality, void of any defects of mention. The repaint was clearly "done right" as everything was removed from the car when it was stripped and repaint. There is no overspray, tape lines, etc, etc anywhere on the paint! Overall it has an exceptionally nice appearance..top to bottom! This car is definitely nice enough, and clean enough to drive, and show anywhere! This car would place and do well at any high quality Dodge/Mopar show! The body panels are exceptionally clean, and straight, as I tried to show in the pictures. This car has awesome body panel fit, and gaps throughout the car. The doors, deck lid, and hood fit like ONLY a super solid car can! There are no dents/creases, or any other notatble body damage. The paint does not even have the typical heavily chipped-up lower extremities you usually see! There are a few (extremely) minor chips which have been touched up from driving, but nothing that detracts from the overall look/beauty of this fine automobile!
The mileage is shown, and believed to be accurate at 61,225. From the overall condition and originality the car posesses, the mileage looks to be correct. This Challenger is one of only 3,538 Convertibles produced in 1970 (total 6/8 cylinder, R/T, and base cars). There were a total of 76,935 total Challengers (HT/CVT) built in '70.
The interior is in excellent restored/original condition. The carpets and seat covers are brand new reproductions. The original 60K mile carpet, and seat covers were in the car when we purchased it. They were nice original pieces, but just stuck-out with newer paint, underhood detail, newer top, etc. The door panels, rear quarter trim, instrumentation, sunvisors, etc are all excellent original pieces. The door panels/rear quarter trim have been dyed to match the remainder of the interior. The top of the door panels have previously had some of the slight "chalking", but since the re-dye, they look very nice for their age. The dash pad has been covered by a nice quality dash "cap", dyed to the match the rest of the interior. It fits suprisingly well, and does not "jump out/stick out" at you like alot of (poor fitting dash caps do. For a purist, and eventual replacement, with one of the new reproduction units would likely be in order. The radio is the original AM unit (working, but not great, as normally found). The convertible top is a newer high quality Haartz (cloth) replacement, with no damage, and a one-piece glass rear window. The top is constucted of the same high-end material that is used on big-dollar cars like Mercedes, etc. A new convertible top boot has also been purchased for the car. While recovering the seats, the FACTORY build sheet was located, and it is truely one of the nicest, most preserved examples we have seen!
All the trim, grille, stainless trim, emblems, etc are in awesome, brand new or restored condition. The chrome on the front/rear bumpers, tail light bezels, etc is in excellent/restored condition as well. The weatherstripping, rubber components, window felts, gaskets, seals, etc are all newly replaced. All other exterior brightwork is in excellent condition as well (trim rings, center caps, emblems, etc, etc). The tires are brand newer BFGoodrich white letter radials, with plenty of tread remaining.
This car always attracts tons of attention (mainly because of the beautiful color combination), and would continue to do the same anywhere it is shown/driven. The underhood is complete and has been cleaned, and superbly detailed by our business. It is certainly nice enough under the hood to be easily shown, and place very well at car shows.
If you are looking for a super nice E-Body Convertible to get in, and drive/enjoy, here's your chance. As we all know, all Challenger/Cuda Convertibles are becoming wildly popular, more expensive, and harder and harder to find each and ever year; regardless of engine/transmission combinations!!!! FEWER, AND FEWER CHALLENGER CONVERTIBLES EXIST IN THIS PRICE RANGE ANY LONGER!!! Most dealers, and private individuals ask middle twenties and up for nice restored E-body Convertibles...big blocks have now surpassed the $40K and up mark!!! Here's your chance to snag an E-body Convertible before the price is completely out of range!! In addition, if you have considered building a Hemi Challenger Convertible, here's you chance. Go buy the Mopar Hemi crate engine/K-member, and dump it into this car!!! INSTANT BIG BUCK RIDE, for less than Hemi Convertible Clones are selling for on Ebay!!!
This car has been fully serviced, and checked over by our business, and is ready to be driven/shown/enjoyed!!!! The brakes are brand new all the way around, 2 new drums, 2 freshly turned, new wheel cylinders, new linings, master cylinder, etc. The underhood features an aftermarket 4 barrel aluminum intake manifold (Holley), and carb, new belts, hoses, alternator, etc. The engine compartment was recently disassembled, and completely detailed top to bottom! The motor sounds great, and has a mild camshaft, which gives the small block a nice presence. The transmission, rear end, and all other mechanics are in sound, turn-key condition.
