The body of this car has no rust, as a 47 year old rust has appeared in the normal places for this model, ie., undercarriage and the spare tire well in trunk; both areas were cut away and new metal welded in place - NO filler used. The paint job (by Maaco) just 4 years ago; is the original color, and has held up well - this car has been garaged for the last 13 years and all but 2 years of its entire life. I am the 3rd owner. The car has 63,000 original miles.

I purchased and had installed custom carpets and new head liner. The previous owner had the seats redone; they are still in good to very good condition.

I had the engine rebuilt from the crank up 12 years ago because the 1.6 liter then running on unleaded low octane gas struggled to keep pace with current day traffic. The rebuild coupled with octane boost and suspension work has returned the 544 to the fun ride it once was. I have detailed receipts to all repairs performed. The engine since rebuild has less than 10,000 miles.

This car has the original 6 volt electrical system. This is an all original vehicle with the exception of the exhaust system which was increased from 1.5 inch diameter to 1.75 diameter exhaust pipe for better breathing, timing was moved slightly to compensate for this modification.

There are less than a handful of minor dings and scratches to the paint, the windshield has a bullseye chip. The car has no radio, although I have several,I can not say that they are in working or non-working order.

What drew my attention to this vehicle was how complete it was for a then 35 year old car. I have nearly all emblems excluding the B16 engine designation. I have a complete parts manual, extra rear side window and assorted engine components.

Additional information with a little help from fellow volvo fans: This PV544 has a B16B low compression dual carb engine with the standard M40 4 speed transmission and was produced in 1961 (later half as evidenced by carburetion set-up).
