SEAT has announced the price and specification of the new Cordoba, on sale from 14 February 2003. The spacious and stylish new Cordoba 4-door saloon has been designed to suit a wide range of driving styles and requirements. It is available in two specification levels, S and SE, and with three engines, one petrol and two diesel, covering an extensive power output range from 75 to 130 PS. Prices start at £9,995 on the road for the Cordoba S 1.4, £11,995 for the Cordoba S 1.9 TDi and £13,995 for the top of the range Cordoba SE 1.9 TDi.
The new Cordoba is a masterpiece of modern styling. Its wedge shape and rounded contours have a dynamic look reflecting its sporty appeal and performance. The SEAT family face is recognisable from its sister model, the Ibiza, but its elongated shape and neat rear with stylised light clusters give it a personality all of its own. The whole look is complemented by 10 classy paint colours including eight metallic finishes, body coloured bumpers and smart steel or alloy wheels.
Cordoba S comes with a choice of either a 1.4 75 PS petrol engine or an advanced, torquey and frugal 1.9 TDi 100 PS engine benefiting from advanced Pumpe Düse technology. Standard S specification includes air conditioning, single CD player, electric front windows, remote central locking, digital clock and outside temperature gauge. The front seats are height adjustable with height and tilt headrests. The rear seat has three headrests, three three-point seat belts and can be split-folded to create an even more roomy and flexible luggage space than is provided by the voluminous 475 litre boot. There is also plenty of storage space in the cabin with door pockets, glovebox, central console and under-dash cubby holes for personal effects and handbooks, a hidden storage box under the driver's seat and a map pocket in the front seatback. Other comfort features include driver and passenger sunvisors with mirrors, a central sunvisor over the rear view mirror, cup holder, pollen filter, air re-circulation feature and interior light with delay.
But the Cordoba doesn't sacrifice safety for comfort. Twin airbags are standard and the passenger airbag can be deactivated by the driver if a child seat is used in the front seat, by a key switch in the glovebox. Electronic power steering with the SEAT-developed DSR (dynamic steering response) makes for positive, sporty handling while ABS and EBA (emergency brake assist) are also part of the package.
If the Cordoba S doesn't offer all the performance, comfort and safety features to suit you, then the top of the range Cordoba SE will. Its 1.9 TDi PD 130 PS engine
linked to a six-speed gearbox gives performance figures unequalled in this segment and makes it a driver's delight. Cordoba SE also benefits from enhanced equipment levels. 15" alloy wheels, Climatronic air conditioning, electric rear windows, on board trip computer, twin headlights, foglights and an alarm are all standard, and satellite navigation is available as an option.
The new Cordoba is backed by SEAT's 3-year/60000 mile warranty, a 12-year anti-corrosion warranty, and 3-year roadside assistance package, SEAT Assistance.
