Just finished Cal Spyder II, a Stunning recreation of the famous multi million dollar Ferrari 250GT SWB California Spider! This is the car that was created for the movie Ferris Buehler\'s Day Off. The car it self comes from Classic Cars by Renucci, and starts out with a jig welded steel tube frame, the body is reinforced fiberglass, and the trim is hand made polished stainless steel. This particular car is a Cal Spyder II, which only about three are in existence. These Cal Spyder II\'s have a beefed up frame, and can accept a serpentine belt system. (which this car has). The front suspension is a mustang two type with custom upper and lower a frames, and uses QA1 coilover adjustable shocks, and a mustang manual rack. Power comes from a brand new Ford Racing 5.0 GT40 crate motor, Ford racing clutch and Tremec 5 speed transmission, a custom serpentine pulley system, and an aluminium radiator. A custom driveshaft links to a posi traction ford 9 inch rear, which is located by four trailing arms, and a panhard rod. It is suspended by QA1 coilover adjustable shocks. Braking is done by dual master cylinders and four wheel discs. Wheels are 15x7 knockoff wires, with 215x60x15 inch tires. Exhaust is thru Borla stainless steel mufflers, Pacesetter resonator tips. The electrical system is a Haywire 14 circuit, with significant upgrades. All gauges are custom VDO\'s with custom Italian faces. Headlights are HID xeon\'s, car has Vintage Air A/C, heat and defrost, roll up windows, and Canvas top. Car has a awsome paint job done in Indium Gray, with supple Pomegranate leather. Carpet is 85.00 yard mercedes. The shifter is custom stainless, and the becker radio looks 100% original, but has been completely redone, all digital with mp3 input. Steering wheel is a real Nardi, and car has Led interior lights, Check out the stainless Ferrari door sills, as well as the custom valve covers. No stone was left unturned to make this look like the real thing, but drive and handle like a real modern car. In todays market it would cost a least 100,000 to build this car to this standard. This car comes with a owners manual, wiring diagrams, and receipts.
