This is my 71 240Z that I restored about a year and a half ago. It is like new. Rides, Sounds and smells like new. Almost every part has been replaced except those items that you cannot get. If you see something in the pictures that you are curious about just call and ask. First of all this is a complete frame off restoration. All rust (very little to begin with) was cut out and replaced. I did replace the entire drivers side floor pan. The hood is new old stock. the hatch is from a 260Z so no vent holes. I still have the original hatch If you want it but will need some repair work. Windshield is new and has since been hit by a small rock and has a small chip in it. There are some stone chips in the paint but over all, this car looks beautiful. I get looks and comments anywhere I go. The motor is an RB20DET from a Japanese Nissan Skyline. The motor was not rebuilt but was guaranteed to have only 40 to 50K miles on it. That seems to be correct. The motor was checked and detailed before I installed it. I also changed the intake plenum to a greddy style to clean up the look under the hood. It also improves performance, The flywheel is an 11 lb chrome moly flywheel. Clutch is brand new and just stock. The motor runs perfectly and makes all the proper sounds a turbo motor should make. Exhaust is 3" to a single can mounted at the end.
Interior is all new. Starting with the dash. The dash was sent to dash restorations in Wa. state. Inside door panels are Nissan new old stock. Seats are Sparco steel seats. They are perfect for older Zs. Carpet is all new. Seals and rubbers are all new. All items that could be replaced with new ones was replaced. Fuel pump, Radiator fan and rear defrost are controlled by the toggle switches at the center console.
Suspension is adjustible coil overs. Spring rates were calculated for a firm yet smooth ride. I have driven this car on (3) 900 mile trips and enjoyed every minute. Rear brakes are converted to disk. Wheels are real 15" Watanabe with Watanabe center caps. I paid $520.00 per wheel.
I have only seen a few of these 240Zs built to this standard. I have over $28K in this car. The fender mirrors where $350 for the set. They are original Nissan NOS. I was told they are out of them now. Rear Diff is stock R180. Horsepower stock RB20DET is 210hp. With intake, Big intercooler and light weight flywheel, Maybe 240hp +-
